Suridh Das-Hassan
printed on Giclée Hahnemühle Bamboo

Mondulkiri is an eastern province of Cambodia. It’s both the largest and the most sparsely populated province in the whole country. With natural beauty in abundance, lush rolling hills, waterfalls and nature reserves it often gets overlooked with tourists preferring to flock to the temples around Siem Reap.

The Mondulkiri population is largely made up of ethnic minorities many of whom don't speak Khmer - the national language. These groups face socio-economic problems related to low education levels and remoteness as well as being disproportionately affected by high levels of malnutrition and stunting due to food insecurity.

This image was shot on walkabout through various small villages with the Chenla team.
